Christmas Day we loaded up the van and took our last road trip in 2009. We were a little leery about our outing because the weather was not looking very promising - not unusual for December in Oregon! However, in the end, we decided a mini-vacation was much needed and set out for the Oregon Coast. It has often been said that if you don’t like the weather in Oregon, just wait a minute! How true those words became. In our four days at Sunset Bay and the surrounding area we only had one afternoon of light rain. The rest of the time was simply amazing. We were able to hike, whale watch, visit the incredible light display at Shore Acres, ride bikes, play in the sand, and of course, eat s’mores! It truly was an epic trip! Here are just a handful of photographs to show just how breathtaking the Oregon Coast can be in December.
